Principle & NYC Rehearsal Director: Nadine Azoulay Nadine Azoulay danced since she was 3 and a half years of age. She intensely studied checcetti ballet technique for seven years at the; The School of Dance in Ottawa, Ontario. She performed in many gala performances celebrating the anniversary of Celia Franca and productions such as Romeo and Juliet, Nutcracker, and The Fairy Queen with the Royal Winnipeg ballet. She joined the Royal Netherlands Conservatory in The Hague for a year as a student and then joined a contemporary school for dance in Rotterdam; HAVO for Dance&Music. She returned to her birth land and trained in the Washington school of ballet’s Release Time Program. She performed productions such as; The Nutcracker and Romeo and Juliet with The Washington Ballet. She danced in Washington Ballet‘s artistic director Septime Webber’s The Nutcracker for four consecutive years. After finishing her high school years at Emerson she applied and was accepted to participate in achieving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance&Choreography at Virginia Commonwealth University. While dancing with VCU she was a company member with the Latin Ballet of Virginia. She has performed in El Dorado, Mujeres, Carnaval, NuYoRican, Baile y Rumba, and the Legend of the Poinsettia. She completed an internship in New York City, summer of 2009 with Monica Bill Barnes&Company, helping with lighting and costume malfunctions, in the production Suddenly Summer Somewhere at the Lincoln Center, and participated in Barnes’s workshops at Dance New Amsterdam. Nadine has performed in VCU DANCE NOW shows, MOVE, by Chris Burnside, a soloist in the STUDENT CONCERT, and many SALON showings. She has choreographed a solo danced by herself called barre at the EN ROUT performance. Before her last semester, Azoulay completed a 6 credit summer study abroad program in Tuscany, Italy, at the ACCADEMIA DELL’ARTE. For her senior project she choreographed amongst debris, in PASTISHE, her last shows as a senior at VCU. In New York City, Nadine performed her solo with Balasole Dance, at the Baryshnikov Arts Center with a solo deriving from her Senior Project. Now she is pleased to join Silvertein's ballet company, The Pink Tutu. Nadine worked as a telefundraiser for The American Ballet Theatre, and embarking on her own project for NACHMO, to be presented at the Mark Morris Dance Center.This same choreography work called Harvest, was also selected to be showcased at The Wired Arts Festival. For two years in a row she has performed with New York City Dance Parade, and will be participating again this May. And currently Azoulay is dancing for Up- and Coming Choreographers competition this month at Princeton University.
Principle Dancer: Joanna Sienkiewicz Joanna Sienkiewicz, originally from Iowa, lives her dream in New York City as a Professional Dancer, Model, and Dance Teacher, and a Certified Pilates Instructor. As a dancer, she has been a part of many productions and companies in both Iowa and New York City. Her training also includes a Full time Trainee at the Joffrey Ballet School of New York. Some Performances include Nutcracker, Coppelia, Paquita, and Swan Lake. In Iowa; Joanna was a founding member of the Central Iowa Dance Youth Ballet Company and a member of Iowa Dance Theatre and performed many favorite pieces of choreography such as Les Patineurs, Sadako, Nutcracker and Dracula. Joanna also was a member of The Des Moines Metropolitan Opera and performed as a dancer in The Unicorn, Gorgon, and Manticore, Turendot, and Amaul and The Night’s Visitors. Joanna joined Ballet Des Moines which collaborated with Tulsa Ballet. Performances included Nutcracker, and collaboration with Tulsa Ballet such as New Beginnings and Continuum. After graduating, she then moved to New York as a Trainee at Joffrey. When completing the program she started her professional career. She performed with The Brooklyn Repertory Opera Company as a soloist dancer in productions including: Hansel and Gretel, The Marriage of Figaro, The Masked Ball, and Orpheus and Eurydichi. Joanna later joined Metropolitan Repertory Ballet Company as a Dancer and performed Nutcracker and Traviata as a soloist. Joanna has danced with ACB Dance Company under direction and choreography of Alison Cook Beaty in the beautiful celebration production of The Rite of Spring presenting: “Mahaway Spring Eternal. She also performed Renaissance dance and The Masked Ball under choreography and direction Sun-Huh. Joanna performed with The Pink Pig Ballet Company and performed in a Production called “The Little Humpbacked Pig” under direction of Valerie Browne with pieces of original choreography as well as the production of The Little Mermaid’s Maid in November. She is also a member of Ballade Ballet Company in New Jersey under Patricia Lawrence, and Jennifer Henelly. She also has performed the role of “The Chosen One” in The Rite of Spring . As an actress, Joanna became a member of Appoloniad Production Company and performed the Greek Tragedies: Alcestis, and Hippolytus. She continues with them in the production Andromache. She has modeled at The Art Students League Posing for various artists. She models for photographers such as Andrew Piotrowski and various artists in NYC. Joanna also is a member of lively “Joy of Dance” (international folk dance ensemble”) under the direction of Lori Shapiro. Joanna recently worked with Thiac Productions on a musical called: “Tell Hell I Aint Comin. Joanna has also performed with the August Strindberg Repertory Theatre in the fabulous production of August Strindberg’s Casper’s Fat Tuesday in collaboration with The Pink Pig Ballet playing the role of Punch! Joanna is ecstatic to be with the “Pink Pig Ballet” in this amazing production of “A Night of Wepatoire”! She is honored to dance with such a talented company and she would like to thank all in her life for helping her dream become possible.
